Nora A. O’Connor, LCSW, is an empathetic, giving therapist who combines her clinical training with her own life experience to provide an individualized approach. Nora earned her Master’s in Social Work from San Francisco State University. She is a licensed clinical social worker, and holds additional training in addiction studies, trauma interventions, motivational engagement and walk & talk therapy. Nora uses psychodynamic, humanistic and somatic psychotherapy with dialectic and cognitive behavioral techniques. She enjoys teaching mindfulness and grounding skills to help clients manage any life stressors. Nora is a skilled Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Seeking Safety clinician.
Nora has worked in the mental health and addiction field for over 10 years treating co-occurring disorders with a diverse population including professional athletes, business executives, college students, Veterans, LGBT homeless youth, and incarcerated adults.
Nora provides treatment to teens and adults who stutter. She treats the emotional response to stuttering using a variety of therapeutic interventions
Nora is currently a mental health consultant at Westside Outpatient Treatment in West Los Angeles, and JWCH Mini House in South Central Los Angeles.
